Meet Information

The 2016 Freddie Hendricks Relay Championships are scheduled for December 21, 2016 at the Baltimore Armory. This meet is open to all schools and athletes in the state of Maryland. This meet is MANDATORY for Baltimore City Schools as it is our relay championships. It is also a great opportunity for 3A schools to have access to the Armory before Regional Championships. This meet will be FAT timed.

Entry costs are as follows:

$75 per gender or $150 per school

**Please note that returned checks will result in a $30 fee.

Checks can be made payable to District IX and can be brought to the meet, along with cash or money order. Athletes/teams will not be permitted to compete without prior payment.

Entries for this meet are due by Sunday December 18, 2016 at 11:59pm. No late entries for this meet will be accepted. Please contact meet director Chris Brida to ensure that your entries have been received and are final (cwbrida@bcps.k12.md.us)

Scratch sheets will be sent out to coaches on Monday December 19 and will be due back on Tuesday December 20 so that coaches may scratch any athletes/relays who are not participating and the meet can be re-seeded if necessary.

A team may enter up to two (2) relays (A and B) in any relay event with the exception of the DMR where only 1 team will be allowed. Athletes are only permitted to compete in a total of four events. Any violations will results in a disqualification of an athlete or team.

In field events, teams MUST enter three athletes as the meet will be scored as a relay championship. Individual entries will not be accepted in field events.

In open events (55m, 55H, 3200m) teams are permitted to enter two (2) athletes.

The meet schedule will be as follows:

Shuttle Hurdles (Girls then Boys)

Shot Put and High Jump Immediately Following Shuttle Hurdles (Girls Shot Put, Boys High Jump first)

DMR (1200-400-800-1600) (Girls then Boys)

4x200 (Girls then Boys)

4x800 (Girls then Boys)

55H (Girls then Boys)

55m (Girls then Boys)

SMR (200-200-400-800) (Girls then Boys)

3200m (Girls then Boys)

4x400 (Girls then Boys)

SCORING:

The meet will follow traditional scoring, as the top 8 "A" teams will receive points based on their finish (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1-). "B" teams WILL NOT be included in the scoring. The individual events (55m, 55H, 3200m) WILL NOT be scored as part of the relay championship.

AWARDS:

Trophies will be given to the overall champion of the meet, as well as the 1st and 2nd place Baltimore City Schools for the relay championship.

Plaques will be awarded to the first, second and third place relays in each relay event.

Medals will be awarded to the first, second and third place athletes in each open event.
