Liberty High School
The meet will be held under the same format as last year. We will keep the expanded varsity "A" races at 10 entrants, with unlimited entries in the Varsity "B" races. This will allow us to more easily manage the larger Varsity "B" races, and give more athletes the chance to run in a varsity event. The course is the same as previous years, still a full 5 kilometers throughout school grounds. This will be the site of the 2A West Region Championship for the sixth straight year. The schedule will be as follows:
3:45 Coaches meeting
4:15 Boys Varsity "A"
4:45 Girls Varsity "A"
5:20 Boys Varsity "B"
5:50 Girls Varsity "B"
We will break teams into small and large school divisions for scoring and awards purposes -as long as we have enough complete teams to support it. In this way, smaller school have a proportionally more even chance to earn awards and trophies, while still competing against larger schools. I will leave that decision up to our scorer, and I will update you as the meet approaches so you know what to expect. Awards will be available for each race after results are posted. Concessions will be available, certified trainer will be on site. Commemorative long sleeve cotton T-shirts will be on sale, and we will send out pre-order forms for discounted sale.
We will cap the number of teams at 22, if necessary - so please notify us early if you would like to participate. Please reply immediately to be sure of your entry. Entry fees are $100 per team, or $150 for both boys and girls teams. Make checks payable toLiberty High School (attn: cross country) - due by September14th. Enter complete roster intowww.Athletic.netno later than September 21st - varsity A and B races will all be scored, so no need to designate varsity runners. The meet is already posted there, and on MPSSAA sanction list, please add that meet onwww.Athletic.net as soon as possible we count you as attending.
