Coaches,
Due to the ever-changing COVID restrictions/gathering limitations at the P.G. Sportsplex, it has become increasingly difficult to attempt to re-format the Montgomery Invitational in a manner that would allow us to host our meet like normal or close to it. There are many challenges to be sorted out at the facility and time is not on our side for planning purposes. We have still been awaiting the receipt of various details to assist in the planning of what was hoping to be another larger invitational. The Montgomery Invitational typically hosts 100+ teams, comprised of nearly 1,200 athletes across a single day of competition.
We are already brainstorming how to make the January 2023 Montgomery Invitational better and we hope that you will keep us in mind to attend again in the future. We will also be celebrating two decades of hosting this invitational and couldn't do so without your continued support. Assuming the restrictions are lifted in January 2023, we are planning on hosting another large invitational, open to all schools in the MD, DC, VA, DE, and PA region.

Entry Process:
Registration: The Montgomery Invitational is password restricted. To receive the password required to enter, please email the following individuals:

Entry fees: $15.00 per individual entry and $25.00 per relay team.
Sanctioning: The Montgomery Invitational is a sanctioned meet for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) only! Please see the above message. We hope to host a normal, full meet in 2023 with all neighboring states.
Entry Fees: Coaches, the money is an entry fee, not a participation fee. You are expected to pay for all of your entries as of the closing date of January 9th, regardless of whether they participate or not!

Payments will be accepted at the meet! Please do not mail checks.
General Information:
Address: Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex - 8001 Sheriff Rd, Landover, MD 20785
Entry to the Sportsplex will begin at 8:00 a.m., the coaches meeting will begin at 8:30am and the first event will begin at 9:00am. All athletes and coaches must enter through the lower entrance in the back of the Sportsplex. Teams will be directed there upon arrival.
Meet Admission: Admission will be charged online with a limited number of tickets available for purchase. All spectators must enter through the lower entrance at the rear of the Sportsplex. Admission will be: $5.00. All athletes must arrive with coaches and be in uniform.
Food and Drink: The PG Sportsplex concession stands will be closed. However, a food truck will be available outside of the complex. Water will be provided for the athletes at the finish line.
Spikes: All competition areas are Mondo surfaces and only pyramid spikes are acceptable. All athletes must have their spikes checked by meet officials before competing. Spikes are not allowed to be worn in the stands for any reason. Any athlete willfully disregarding this request will be scratched from further competition.
Support: A paramedic and athletic trainer will be on site throughout the meet.
Awards: 3 custom presentation medals to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishers in all events.
Field Events:
An athlete's first mark will be measured. However, there will be a minimum distance required to have any additional marks measured in competition. Please see the breakdown below for the minimums required for measurement after the first attempt:
Minimum Distances:
Long Jump: (Boy's) 17'0" (Girl's) 14'0"
Triple Jump: (Boy's) 35'0" (Girl's) 25'0"
Shotput: (Boy's) 35'0" (Girl's) 25'0"
Opening Heights:
High Jump: (Boy's) 5'6" (Girl's) 4'6"
Pole Vault: (Boy's) 9 ft. (Girl's) 7 ft.

4x800m Relay: 1 Entry
55m: 4 Entries

4x400m Relay: 1 Entry
Once a specific event reaches the maximum allowable total entries, that event will close out and no more entries will be accepted for that specific event.
