No. 10: Urbana High School
Since moving to the 3A classification in 2011, the Urbana boys have increased their finish at the state championships every year. Last year they came within a mere two points of a second-place finish at Hereford. They will lose their top two runners from last season, but the Urbana boys are still a formidable force in Frederick County. Rising junior Nathan Davis followed his 25th-place finish at last year's state championships with a 9:41.20 3200 in the spring, the third-fastest returning time in the 3A classification. Rising sophomore Ben Landon (33rd at last year's state meet) and rising senior Justin Le (42nd) give the Hawks one of the better returning trios in 3A. They have a comfortable lead in the Frederick County and 3A West traditional returning team rankings and composite scores, and could be looking at another top-three finish at the state championships this fall.
