While it's the distance events in the 4A classification that could see records fall, this year's class of 3A sprinters will certainly have their chances against their state records. Frederick's Jaida Smith captured the 55 meter dash title as a sophomore last season; her time of 7.04 just milliseconds off the 3A record of 7.00. Smith will likely have two more shots at the 3A state meet record, but she may only need one to break it.
