Why two records on one page? That's because one runner - Franklin's Nyjari McNeil - could be on the verge of breaking both of them. She came excruciatingly close to both records last season:
- 500: 1st, 1:14.89 (record is 1:14.58)
- 800: 1st, 2:17.07 (record is 2:17.00)
Far and away the fastest returner in the 3A classification in both events, it would be shocking not to see her go for both titles again this season. Last year, however, she proved that she can challenge both marks in the same meet.
