The 3A girls 4x800 was one of the most dramatic finishes of the entire state championships, but no matter who won the defending champion would have been gone next year. The Urbana girls will be moving up to the 4A classification, while the Damascus girls will move down to 2A. The move may be even more beneficial for Damascus who will return all four of their relay legs next year.
