3A Girls 5K Rankings

Following her runaway victory as a freshman at last year's state meet, Wright's Haley Cummins has yet to be caught by anyone in Maryland. Cummins kicked off her sophomore campaign with a convincing win at the Track and Trail Invitational, then finished third at the William and Mary Invitational in Virginia (where, coincidentally, the two girls who beat her were also sophomores). Her 18:44 season best sits second in the state behind only Walter Johnson's Abigail Green.

There is still plenty of talent left in the 3A classification following the realignment this past summer. The Northern trio of Sarah Deresky, Abby Sweeney and Claudia Dolan rank third through fifth on the 3A leaderboard through October as the Patriots march towards what they hope will be a second straight state title. Mount Hebron senior Emily Beyer also has two wins already under her belt this fall, including a 19:10 performance at the Hood College Invitational that ranks her tenth in Maryland at the moment.
