Talk about a toss-up. All five girls on this list have thrown within two and a half feet of each other, and the regional meets didn't do much to clear up the picture. It's a big change from last year's 2A state meet competition when Frederick Douglass' Seasons Usual threw nearly seven feet further than anybody; and the top two returners from last year's meet, Lackey's Courtney Hawkins and Key's Summer Burton, now compete in the 1A classification.
Williamsport's Mikayla Cline is the only 2A girl to have thrown over 35 feet this season, but she finished second at the 2A West Regionals to Damascus' Mallory Anderson. Both Middletown's Kayla Rademacher and Oakdale's Katelynn Raumann finished within half a foot of the top two throwers at 2A West, as well. Meanwhile, Westlake's Nadjia Haskins threw a personal best 34'3.25 at the 2A East Regionals to throw a monkey wrench into what was already a crowded picture - she had not thrown over 33 feet prior to her regional performance.
