Meet Record: Ken Nelson (High Point) - 47.88, 2017

This race may be one of the few on this list in which the meet record has a solid chance of standing another year after Ken Nelson ran 47.88 last April, but once again the depth is almost overwhelming. A dozen boys are seeded under 50 seconds, with a bunch more under 51. DeMatha's Brendon Stewart is coming off a winter during which he ran 33.86 in the 300, and both Suitland's Terric Buchanan (48.59 400 last spring) and Milford Mill's Aariq Nixon (49.35 400 this winter) will join him in the fast section of the 400. St. Joseph's (PA) Miles Green headlines the out-of-state competition: he was the PTFCA indoor 400 champion this winter with a time of 47.93.
