Top Races To Watch At Saturday's Bullis Bulldog Invitational

Girls 800

Penn Wood's Kyra Carroll won the 800 at the DVGTCA Meet of Champions this past indoor season and owns a 2:13 personal best. Will it be enough to topple the defending champion and meet record holder? (Photo by Howard Anderson)

Meet Record: Nyjari McNeil (Franklin) - 2:14.26, 2017

The only meet record holder on this list who will be back to defend it, Franklin's Nyjari McNeil has not lost an 800 on Maryland soil since the Howard County Winterfest back in December of 2016. Last year's race, however, was close, as McNeil held off St. John's Alahna Sabbakhan by just two-tenths of a second. The stakes will be even higher this year as four out-of-state girls come into the race seeded under 2:15. Nia Frederick (Bullis), Yasmine Kass (Paint Branch) and Antoinette Bradley (Friendly) fill out the rest of the Maryland field that has run under 2:20.
