Howard County Indoor Championships Postponed Two Weeks To February 8th

The Howard County Indoor Track & Field Championships, originally scheduled for this Monday, January 25th at the PG County Sports & Learning Center has been postponed due to the weekend snowstorm to be held two weeks later later this season on Monday, February 8th at PG. So the county championship meet now is now placed interestingly in between the regional and state meets for the Howard County schools.

Most Howard County schools are in the 3A East Regional, which is being held on Tuesday, February 2nd at the Armory in Baltimore. Marriotts Ridge and Oakland Mills are in 2A East which is being held on Monday, February 1st at PG, while Howard is 4A East at the Armory on Wednesday, February 3rd. 

Does that change how the teams and athletes approach the meet. Still load up their athletes to double, triple, and quadruple in many events as possible or will they save or the lessen the load on some of their top athletes qualified for the state meet?

With the Maryland State Championships being a week later at PG with the 1A/2A state meet on Monday and 3A/4A state meet on Tuesday, the rest period in between the meets should be suffice for not too many coaches to change how they approach the Howard County Championship meet.

Start time for the new date has yet to be determined, but the meet could potentially start earlier than the original 4 PM start time since there is no school for Howard County on February 8th.
