4 Reasons To Watch 2A Girls Indoor State Championships

Brit Lang... Mid-Distance Runner?: Brit Lang had quite the at the 2A East Regional Championships: second in the 1600, 3200 and 800, and first in the 500. She might not try to pull that off at the state championships, and with Jackson leading the way in the distance events, Lang's best chance at a state title might be in the 500. She had only run the event once before the 2A East Regional Championships, but she enters the state championship with the second-fastest time this season among 2A girls.

The only girl in front of her is Allison Zolkiewicz, who had quite the day at the 2A West Regional Championships. She led South Carroll to victories in the 4x400 and 4x800, won the 500 and finished third in the 800. After her second-place finishes at least year's 500 and 400 in the outdoor state championships, she will certainly be gunning for that state title. Whether or not Brit Lang runs the event, it's interesting to consider the possibility of her winning states in an event that she had never even run before this season. Just the fact that she was able to qualify for states in all four events is a testament to her durability and strength.
