Annapolis' Maria Coffin and Patuxent's Hayley Jackson - both juniors in 2015-16 - were arguably the top two milers in the state last season. They met in a showdown at the Montgomery Invitational, along with other top Washington area runners like Reagan Bustamante, Heather Holt and Abbey Green. Neither girl was shy about pushing the pace, and Jackson eventually pulled away for the win, becoming the only girl in the state last season to crack five minutes in the event.
