Boys 300: 35.70 (Rico Gomez, 2013)
Only three boys have cracked 36 seconds in the 300 since the Ed Bowie Classic opened in the 2011-12 indoor season. However, this year's loaded field means that not just one, but two or three boys could crack the meet record this season. Will Moten (34.57), Darnell Pratt (34.63) and Eric Harrison (21.44 200 last indoor season) lead this talented field of boys who will be gunning for sub-35 seconds.
Boys 3200: 9:51.24 (Patrick Duboyce, 2011)
Linganore's Patrick Duboyce broke 10 minutes in the 3200 in the meet's first year, and nobody has done it since. However Westlake's Jay Hall has clocked two sub-10 efforts this season, including a 9:49.27 fourth-place finish at this past weekend's Bishop Loughlin Games. This field also has depth, with ten boys seeded under 10:30.
Boys 4x800: 8:27.79 (Oxon Hill, 2013)
Three teams have cracked the 8:30 mark in the 4x800 since 2011, led by Oxon Hill in 2013. Those same Oxon Hill boys ran 8:16.27 earlier this season and could easily break the meet record with their 'A' team. The Battlefield (VA) boys are also seeded at 8:20, and three more PG County schools (Roosevelt, Largo and Suitland) at 8:30.
How far can Blake's Ty Mason jump in his 2016-17 indoor season debut?
Boys Long Jump: 22'1.50 (Devin Butler, 2015)
Frederick Douglass' Devin Butler set the meet record last season in the long jump, but it might be short-lived. Blake's Ty Mason is one of the top long jumpers in recent Maryland history, having jumped 23'5.50 last winter to win the Emerging Elite section at New Balance Indoor Nationals.
