The top distance runners from the fall are making their way back to the track, including Walter Johnson's Abigail Green who was among four Maryland girls to compete at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships in early December. She'll be looking to kick off her season with a sub-11:00 performance right off the bat - and claim the top ranking in Maryland while she's at it.

Green won't be the only girl with her eye on the 11 minute target. Northern's Molly Barrick currently sits at #2 in the state 3200 rankings at 11:03 and could really benefit from a race with a proven 10:40 two-miler in Green. Barrick leads a large group of girls that could find themselves in the hunt for a fast performance in the 3200 on Saturday.

Chloe Tran (Fairfax) and Caroline Howley (McLean) boast sub-11:20 performances from last spring and bring some out-of-state competition into the race. Abby Sweeney and Annie Imhof both had excellent cross country seasons and seemed poised for similar performances now that the indoor season is in full swing.
