Nyjari McNeil came very close to breaking the 3A state meet records in both the 500 and 800 last year, and looks to be in a position to try and break them again this year. She dropped a MD #1 1:13.64 at the Virginia Tech High School Invitational earlier this season, and an impressive 1:16.67 performance at the Baltimore Armory at the 3A Central Regionals. She has no problem with the 500/800 double - last year she was closer to the 800 record than she was the 500 record. There's a real possibility she could walk away next week with not one, but two, meet records.
