  • The 2017 indoor state championships saw what was by far the best group of girls milers the state has ever seen. Patuxent's Hayley Jackson led the way with her state record and US #1 performance of 4:45, and Annapolis' Maria Coffin and Walter Johnson's Abigail Green also broke five minutes (which had never been done before this season at the indoor state meet).

Three girls 4x400 relays cracked four minutes this week at the state championships - all in the 3A race. Franklin junior Nyjari McNeil brought Franklin back from third to first on the final lap, as both Blake (second) and Mount Hebron (third) dipped under the four minute mark in the race.
