William Henderson came into New Balance Indoor Nationals weekend ranked second in the US in the long jump. He will leave ranked first and, more importantly, with a national title.
Henderson led the competition throughout and jumped his US-best 24'8.50 on his final attempt to secure the win in the championship event. For Henderson it was just one highlight in an impressive day that saw him clinch spots in the finals of the championship 60 meter dash and hurdles.
Henderson also finished fifth in the 60 meter hurdle prelims and was the runner-up in the 60 meter dash prelims. His 7.79 time in the 60 meter hurdles translates to about a 7.24 mark in the 55 meter hurdles which would better his 7.27 MD #1 ranking. He will have his shot at two or possibly three national titles on Sunday when this year's New Balance Indoor Nationals action wraps up at The Armory in New York City!
