Girls High Jump

Northwest's Taylor Wright turned heads around the country when she opened the 2018 indoor season by clearing 5 feet, 8 inches at MCPS Meet No. 1 back in early December. Another such effort would tie the current meet record. But Wright may not even be the favorite heading into Saturday's meet: Osbourn Park's Sydney Banks cleared 5-10 to win her state championship last winter, and then upped her personal best to 5-11 last spring. All eyes should be on the infield as the girls high jump progresses; the event may come to a showdown with multiple girls looking to clear 5-10.
