As is the case with many of the sprint events, tomorrow's girls 55 meter hurdle finals will be a top-flight showdown between two East Coast powerhouses: Bullis and Nansemond River. Bullis' Leah Phillips won last year's race in 8.15 and currently has the second-fastest time in the state behind teammate Lauryn Harris, who ran 8.00 last weekend. Along with Nansemond River's Kori Carter (who ran 7.90 last winter) and Tre'Breh Scott-McKoy, this race features at least four girls who could break the meet record of 7.95 and completely reshape the national rankings.
