WATCH: Garrett Suhr Run 4:13 1600 PR In Win At DMV MOC

Richard Montgomery junior Garrett Suhr rolled to a new 1600 meter personal best of 4:13 on Sunday night at the University of Maryland in the DMV Meet of Champions. Racing against one of DC's best in Luke Tewalt of Washington and one of Virginia's best in Jacob Hunter, Suhr found himself in a battle for the win between the trio entering the bell lap. A pacer helped bring them thru the first 800 in 2:07.

There were several lead changes on the last lap including a point that the less heralded Tewalt looked to possibly steal a win against the loaded field, but Suhr was able to nip both him and Hunter off at the line to knock 2 seconds off his prior personal best of 4:15 and take over the state leaderboard in the event.

After running a 1:54 PR last Saturday as well to win the 800 at the DMV Meet of the Elite, Suhr will have one more opportunity to lower his time next weekend in the championship mile at New Balance Nationals.
