Last year, Jenna Zietowski (left) and Sammie Spargo shared #1 duties for Liberty, and that may once again be the case in 2019. Now seniors, they enter this fall as the fifth and sixth fastest returning runners from last year's county championships. Both are also coming off of solid track seasons, during which they ranked sixth (Spargo, at 5:31) and ninth (Zietowski, at 5:47) among Carroll County girls in the 1600.
Top Returners From 2018 Meet
Rubie Goffena ran away with the title in last year's race as a freshman, and she is the top returner by 45 seconds. Only two of the top nine runners from last year's meet graduated, meaning that the front of this year's race could look very similar to last fall.
