The history Montgomery Invitational is almost synonymous with the history of the PG Sportsplex. Since the opening of the venue the Montgomery Invitational has consistently been its largest-drawing meet, attracting well over 100 teams every year from Maryland and surrounding states.
In nearly two decades, no girl has ever jumped 19 feet in the long jump at the Montgomery Invitational, but many have been close. The closest? Jeryne Fish (above), a 2015 graduate of National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Fish fell just a quarter inch shy of the 19-foot mark at the 2015 edition of the meet. She would jump a personal-best 19'5.25 later in the season in a winning performance at the Virginia Tech Invitational.
