3A Girls 100

Times in the sprint finals at the 2019 state meet were generally slower than the times in the prelims due to a strong headwind that materialized on the final straightaway on Saturday. But while the girls in the 3A 100 meter dash finals didn't quite match their times from the prelims on the prior evening, the race was still a heart-stopper for everyone involved. Try and figure out who the winner was from the track level! Stumped? It was Frederick senior Jada Sobratti in lane six, beating out Mt. Hebron's Jaiden Ritter in a photo finish that went down to the thousandths of a second. Sobratti's win also made it four consecutive years a Frederick girl won the 3A title in the 100 meter dash, after Jaida Smith won the previous three from 2016-18. That streak, however, will be broken this year, as no Cadets qualified for the state meet in the 100.
