The rankings were based off of last xc season, track times, and key additions that may affect this years teams. I have been told that the Southeast region editor contacted some of the top teams in Md about what there expectations were this season. They also asked for track and xc pr's. C. Milton Wright returns just about the entire team, which is lead by Allison Barnes the 2003 3A state champion, Kelli Buck 2 time state 1600 meter champ, along with Megan Ravenscraft, Leah Estremera, and Danielle Burcham who teamed with Buck to win the 3a 4x800 relay last spring. The team also has 2 new freshman Sara Bailey who has already run 19:02 for 5k and 11:30 for 3200 meters, and Lindsay Lippencott who has run 20:30 for 5k and 12:20 for 3200 meters. Rankings are to updated every week, and coaches are asked to submit performances to the southeast region editor. MdRunning will be submitting all results that are run each week. We will also try and give as much info about the state teams as possible. At the end of the season the top 2 teams in each region and 4 at large bids will be invited to Portland, Oregon for the Nike Team National XC championships.
