The Centennial Eagles hosted the Eagle Invitational on September 10th, and to no surprise, they successfully defended the nest.
Varsity Boys
Led by the former 3A state champion Antonio Camacho Bucks, the Centennial boys dominated the Men's Varsity race. Camacho and fellow Eagle, Sebastian Martinez (15:34.71), went 1-2, with Camacho breaking his own meet record from 2021 in a time of 15:17.98. A tight group trailed behind with Oakland Mills' Ethan Aidam (15:39.98), Wilde Lake's Henry Hopper (15:40.76) and Christian Brower from Long Reach (15:47.72) all finishing within a few seconds of each other. Overall, the Eagles top five scoring runners placed in the top 25 and won with a score of 53, merely half the score of the following team. The Howard Lions finished in second as a team with 102 points and Liberty high school in third with 125 points.
