Boys Recap
Brody Buffington steals the show at every meet he goes to and this meet was no different. On Thursday night he was part of yet another celebration disqualification controversy as he put his hands up before the finish line, a move that an official felt was disqualifiable. That move cost his 4x200 team a gold medal and team points (MileSplit will be putting out an article about this controversy highlighting both sides of the argument).
However, the DQ and losing 10 points did not stop Catoctin from winning the 1A Boys Crown. Buffington won the 100m in a new all-time state meet record in 10.35 seconds. He also set the 1A 200m record winning in a time of 21.06 seconds. Furious Trammel shined as he won the 400m dash in 48.91, the Long Jump, jumping 21-09.75, and the triple jump with a mark of 43-05.75.
