Salute to Seniors: Mt. Hebron Sprinter Aaron Abedin

Name: Aaron Abedin

High School: Mt. Hebron

What was your most memorable race/throw/jump/vault/moment? Why is that?

The 400m dash. It pushed me to my limits and gave me the endurance and mental toughness I needed.

Was there a certain moment or breakthrough race/meet when you realized you would be able to compete at a high level?

This was when I broke the 49 seconds barrier on April 1st running a 48.75 sec 400m

What are some bumps in the road that you've encountered when it comes to training for different events during the season?

Not being able to run as consistently as I wanted. Not placing top 3 at states was a bummer but 4th at states isn't terrible.

If you are writing a letter to your younger freshman self, what advice might you give them?

if you want it bad enough, you are going to have to push yourself even harder.

If you had to pick: Track and Field or Cross Country, why? (If you only run Track, then don't worry about explaining why).

Track and Field

What are your post-high school or college plans? If Running in college, explain why you picked that school.

I am running at the University of Maryland college park.

What is your favorite pre-race snack, tradition, etc.?

Bananas or eggs in the morning.

Name the top Maryland Cross Country or Track moment(s) you have witnessed. Can be by level of greatness or just something that really stood out to you.

Judson Lincoln, Brody Buffington, and Quincy Wilson.

Who would you like to say "thank you" to?

Thank you to my coach, Coach Carter, my friends, and my family for getting me through the tough days and reassuring me that I can do it.

Is there anything else you would like to mention that stands out to you over the past 4 years?

Onto the next 4
