Hundreds of Maryland athletes make the annual trip down to Cary North Carolina each year to compete in the NXR South East Regional against some of the top teams and athletes from the Southeastern United States. The Cary course offers a fast 5k with amazing competition for athletes to try to end their season with a PR and for a select few try to qualify for the National Championships. The top 5 individuals and top 2 teams will qualify for Nationals in Portland Oregon.
All 8 MPSSAA State Champions plus champions from the private school leagues will be competing on Sunday. They are all not in the same race but it will be great to compare times from these individuals since they will all run the same course on the same day! There are also many individuals who placed top 10 at states or their conference championship meet who will also be competing and may be looking to get a little revenge for their last race of the year!
