Hale Bullen, Sr., Annapolis, indoor track Bullen set out to make history at the Anne Arundel County championship meet, and he did it — by 22 seconds. The area’s best distance runner, Bullen shattered Olympian Matthew Centrowitz’s record in the two-mile run with a time of 9:18.01 to give Annapolis its only county championship. Bullen, who won the Class 3A state title during the cross country season, lapped all of his opponents at the county meet and finished 34 seconds ahead of Severna Park’s Jimmy Shipley.
