Charas Heurich Memorial Invitational
DATE: Saturday, April 9, 2016
COACHES: Meeting at 9:30 AM (location dependant on weather). There will be a coaching box for all field events.
TIMES: Field Events: 10:00, Running Events: 10:30
SCORING: Top 6 places in each event (10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1) Ribbons awarded to top 6 finishers. Athletes will be able to pick up their own ribbons after the results are read for the event.
TROPHY: Team trophy to the top boys teams and the top girls teams.
ENTRIES: 1 relay team, 3 individuals per event.
SUBSTITUTES: Coaches may scratch (no replacements) at the coaches meeting. A scratch WILL count towards an athletes 4 events.
TRACK: 7 lane, all-weather track. No spikes longer than 1/4 showing.
FINALS: ALL RACES-including the high hurdles, 100m dash and 200m dash, will be run as finals.
300m IH and 400m dash will be run entirely in lanes
4x100m relay & 4x200m relay will be run entirely in lanes
The 800m will use a waterfall start.
The 1600m and 3200m will use alleys.
4x400m relay, 3 turn stagger 1st runner entirely in lanes, the 2nd runner will cut in after the first curve.
J.V. ATHLETES The only event in which junior varsity athletes will be able to compete will be the 4x400m relay. These races will be run at the conclusion of the varsity 4x400m relays and coaches will be responsible for getting their teams times.
ATHLETES: Please keep your athletes out of the track area unless participating in an event.
ELECTRONICS: We will be following the lead of the MPSSAA by not allowing any electronics in the competition area. This includes all field events and anywhere inside the interior (short) fence surrounding the track. The only exception is in designated coaches areas.
UNIFORMS: The MPSSAA uniform rule will be in effect.
EVENT CALL: Please have athletes head to the bullpen on 1st call.
BLOCKS: Will be provided.
FACILITIES: There will be no dressing facilities available. Rest rooms are located at the track. Leopard Athletic Booster Club will have a concession stand.
PRESS BOX: Please keep everyone out of here. Results will be posted as quickly as possible on the side of the concession stand.
TRASH: Please have your athletes police their area after the meet.
PROBLEMS: See me during the meet.
TEAM AREAS: No teams will be allowed to set up in the home (finish line) side of the bleachers. They may set up between the fences or on the visitor side bleachers.
ENTRY-FEE: $150 per school. $80 for boys only/girls only.
