Dalton Hengst (Junior, McDonogh)

Hengst spent a majority of his junior cross country season as he did the 2016 track season - running in various meets across the Mid-Atlantic. Hengst kicked off his 2016 with a win at the Barnhart Invitational and then steadily lowered his 5K mark to a personal best and MD #1 mark of 15:11.20 in his win at the Third Battle Invitational. Hengst also picked up a win in the 2.5-mile Manhattan Invitational and handily won both the MIAA and MD/DC Private School championships. Perhaps his biggest highlight was finishing fifth at the Foot Locker Northeast Regionals at Van Cortlandt Park and qualifying for the Foot Locker Championships in San Diego, where he finished 21st out of 40 total runners.
