Brunswick Invitational

Brit Lang all alone winning the large schools race at the Brunswick Invitational by one minute and 24 seconds, but more importantly breaking the meet and course record with her 18:42 performance as the first under 19 minutes on the challenging 3 mile course.
It was great day as well for her Oakland Mills teammate Joey Navarro in pulling away from Winters Mill's Taylor Russell (16:46) for a 16:41 win. Fastest boys time of the day though belonged to small schools race champion Brian Cave of South Carroll rocking a 16:14 winning time, while the top two girls in the small school race dipped under 20 minutes in Catoctin's Julien Webster (1st, 19:43) and Erin Langille (2nd, 19:59).
The Northwest boys and Centennial girls were the team champs in large schools division. The Centennial girls impressive averaged under 21 minutes as a squad taking the next four places after Lang to make them have to be considered as a real threat to win the 3A state title this fall. The Northwest boys had 3 runners in the top 8 and their entire top 5 among the top 18 to win by a 31 point margin.
