For defending Cecil County girls champ Elle Meyer of Bohemia Manor, she received a bit of a challenge from Rising Sun junior Alanah Bell (2nd, 20:19) before pulling away with a 32 second margin of victory in a personal best 5K performance of 19:47 on her home course. However, it would be Bell and the Rising Sun girls (36 pts) when all the places were tallied that would be declared the county champions by a single point margin over Bohemia Manor (37 pts) as they put 5 girls among the top 12 places.
