The Elizabeth Seton girls traveled up to the new Ocean Breeze facility on Staten Island on Thursday to win the 4x200 meter relay in a state best and US #8 time of 1:42.86. This relay could potentially flirt with sub 1:40 by season's end at New Balance Nationals.

Nina Crawford also had a big meet individually for the Elizabeth Seton girls winning both the long jump with a leap of 18'1" and as well taking first in the 400 meter dash with a US #5 time of 57.88.

On the day before in New York City at the Marine Corps Holiday Classic, athletes and relays from the Bullis School, Largo, and McDonogh School competed at the New York Armory.

McDonogh School sophomore Dalton Hengst earned himself a spot in the Millrose Games by virtue of winning the invitational boys mile race at Marine Corps as he blazed a 59 second last 400 meter kick to win in a time of 4:22.69. A new state leading time as well for Maryland in the event as well if convert to 1600 meters.

The Largo boys took advantage of the fast banked track of the Armory and dropped a state leading time of 1:31.45 in the 4x200 meter relay in the prelims. Their quartet ended up finishing fifth in the finals with a time of 1:32.41. The Largo girls also posted a season best time in New York in the prelims with a MD #4 time of 1:46.74. 

Can see why the Bullis School girls should have one of the top 4x200 meter relays in the state of Maryland with nearly four girls turning in sub 26 second clockings in the open 200 at the Marine Corps Holiday Classic with Masai Russell (24.90), Alexis Postell (25.15), Lauryn Harris (25.29), and Arianna Richards (26.09).

Their squad came together for the sprint medley relay being their focus on this trip to New York as they won from section 2 in a US #3 time of 4:15.20 to best the fast section relays including a Springside Chestnut Hill Academy squad from Pennsylvania featuring Penn Relays 400 meter hurdles champ Brooklyn Broadwater.
