Walter Johnson sweeps 4a/3a west regional

The Walter Johnson boys and girls swept the 4a/3a west regional meet held Thursday evening at the Baltimore Armory. The teams from the west region found out what others have known all year, running at the Baltimore Armory is not fun nor fast. The Walter Johnson boys were lead by Andrew Jesien who continued to dominate the distance events in Maryland. Jesien won the 800, 1600, and 3200. The Walter Johnson boys also won the 3200 relay. The girls used a more balanced attack, but still won 2 of 3 relays. Hilary Moen finished 2nd in two events to help the Walter Johnson girls to their victory. In a surprise the girls team from Montgomery Blair finished a close 2nd mainly due to the running of the Sinclair sisters, who finished 1st and 2nd in both the mile and 800. Halsey Sinclair won the 800, 1600, and 3200. While her sister, Ashlyn was runner-up in the 500, 800, and 1600.
