This past weekend marked the unofficial end of the invitational and county/league championship seasons this winter. With regionals starting next weekend most teams were hoping to get one final fast performance in before entries are due. For Good Counsel's Darnell Pratt, however, it was a chance to set a new personal best in the 300 on the fast banked track at Virginia Tech. He did just that, placing second with a MD #2 time of 34.08.

It was a great weekend for Douglass' Kollin Smith. He won the long jump at the Virginia Tech High School Invitational, setting a new personal best at 23'6.75. The mark is good for a US #6 ranking. Smith also set a new personal best in the 55 hurdles - 7.51 - the third fastest time in the state this season.
