Spalding's DaeSean Winston was one of the top sprinters on Saturday, dropping a huge personal best of 11.12 in his victory in the 100 meter dash. He also helped the Spalding boys win the 4x100 relay and will have chance to make some real noise in the MIAA this year.
You may have already heard, but Dalton Hengst's 8:56 3200 at Arcadia on Friday deserves another mention. Only a junior, he reached a level that none of the best distance runners in recent years - names like Vincent Ciattei, Ryan Forsyth and Chase Weaverling - were quite able to get to during their high school days.
Elsewhere outside Maryland the Oxon Hill boys ventured south of the border into Virginia and dropped some fast times - what's new? Senior Aaron Robinson finished third in the 400 (and just .13 seconds behind first) and threw in a personal best and MD #4 200 as well.

Back within the confines of Maryland, Bel Air's Kieran McDermott was a standout at the Pikesville Track Classic, a meet known for attracting many of the top distance schools in the state. His 4:22.28 1600 was a personal best and MD #3, and his 1:54.37 800 was also a PR and a MD #2. He ran slightly faster in the 800 than another Maryland junior with the same last name - more on that in the upcoming junior rankings article.
The Northwest boys dominated at the Charas Heurich Invitational, thanks in no small part to Khaloni Mganga. The junior won the 200 and 400 and helped the Jaguars win the 4x200 as well, proving that they still have depth even without indoor star Josh Netterville. Kollin Smith was similarly dominant over at the Jim Vollmer Invitational, picking up wins in the 110 hurdles, high jump and long jump.
