Christophel only ran a handful of cross country races last fall after clocking a 4:29 1600 as a sophomore. This past spring, however, he soared to new heights, dropping his 3200 personal best from 10:02 to 9:49 to 9:39 in a matter of two weeks. His sixth-place finish in the 3200 at the outdoor state championships pins him as a runner to watch in the fall this season.
