2019 Girls XC Power Rankings: Week Five

The Urbana girls rolled at the Cougar Challenge on Saturday, placing five runners in the top eight. Was it enough to maintain their top ten ranking? (Photo by Craig Amoss)

After ranking our top 50 teams before the season we will post updated top 25 rankings at the beginning of every week!

Maryland's top teams went head-to-head once again this past weekend, this time down in North Carolina at the Great American XC Festival. Howard flexed their muscles, taking down Severna Park even without their number one runner, Amanda Eliker. The Walter Johnson girls move up the most within the top ten behind Jenna Goldberg and Ella Gaul's performances at Great American. The Wildcats bested the Northern girls in the Maryland merged results from Great American.

The South Carroll girls are our biggest week five risers, coming off two strong showings in the past week. They came within one point of taking down the 2A favorites from Liberty on their home course at the Crossfire Invitational, then finished third at a highly-competitive Westminster Invitational at which the top three teams were separated by just nine points.
