We continue our indoor preview by highlighting some of the top returning boys individuals in the 3A classification.

*Note: outdoor performances are only taken into consideration if the athlete also participated during indoor track.

Sprints

Jordan Addison (Senior, Tuscarora) - 6.70 55, 38.85 300, 10.85 100, 22.56 200

Addison broke out as a junior last spring, finishing as the runner-up in the 100 meter dash at both the Frederick County championships and 3A West regionals. His 10.85 100-meter dash time is the fastest among 3A returners, and he is also one of the state's best long jumpers, having won the 3A state title in the event last spring.

Ayomide Agbayewa (Senior, Reservoir) - 6.60 55, 11.01 100

The Gator senior won his first individual county title last indoor season in the 55 meter dash. Agbayewa actually ran his personal best (6.54) as a sophomore in 2018, a year in which he finished sixth at the 3A state meet in the event.

Talil Atkins (Sophomore, Baltimore Poly) - 36.93 300, 1:08.97 500, 22.69 200, 50.49 400

Atkins ranked third among freshmen last indoor season in both the 300 and 500 meter dashes. He qualified for states in two events during each season of his first year at Baltimore Poly and scored in two of them (indoor 300 and outdoor 400).

Khalil Booker (Senior, South Hagerstown) - 6.57 55, 10.94 100, 22.64 200

Booker finished third in the 55 meter dash at last year's 3A state meet, making it two consecutive indoor seasons in which he finished in the top five in the event. He's the only returner in the 3A classification to have run sub-6.60.

Tymique Goodman (Senior, Woodlawn) - 37.67 300, 1:09.13 500, 50.79 400, 2:00.60 800, 4:51.53 1600

Goodman ranks in the top eleven among 3A returners in the outdoor 800 (eighth), outdoor 400 (11th,) indoor 500 (third) and indoor 800 (fifth). Goodman finished tenth at last year's 3A indoor state meet in the 800 meter run.

Jalen Jasmin (Senior, Reservoir) - 6.62 55, 38.84 300, 11.28 100, 23.54 200

Jasmin won last year's 3A East region title in the 55 meter dash, and would have also won the Howard County title if it weren't for his teammate, Ayomide Agbayewa. He is also one of the top returning long jumpers in the state, having jumped a 22'11 personal best at last year's DMV Meet of the Elite.

Kroy Myers (Junior, North Point) - 6.73 55, 36.52 300

As a sophomore Myers qualified for the state meet with a 36.52 performance in the 300 meter dash at the 4A East regionals. Now that North Point has moved down to 3A this year, he ranks third among returners in the event.

Jaylen Myers (Junior, Long Reach) - 6.82 55, 36.58 300, 11.03 100, 22.17 200

Myers cut significant time off his freshman personal bests in both the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2019. His 36.58 personal best in the 300 ranks fourth among 3A returners and his outdoor times - particularly his 22.17 200, third among 3A returners - stack up favorably against his 3A competition as well.

Devon Napier (Junior, North Hagerstown) - 6.78 55, 38.83 300, 10.91 100, 22.28 200

Napier's first season running in the spring was a success, as he ranked third among all sophomores across the state in the 100 meter dash. His 10.91 personal best ranks second behind Tuscarora's Jordan Addison among 3A returners.

Keith Parks (Senior, Northern-Calvert) - 6.61 55, 36.82 300, 11.13 100, 22.41 200

Parks took a big step forward from his sophomore to junior indoor seasons, dropping his 55 meter personal best from 6.75 to 6.61 and finishing as both the Southern Maryland conference and 3A East regional runner-up in the event.

Kimball Tyler (Senior, Long Reach) - 36.16 300, 1:07.80 500, 23.14 200, 50.27 400

After finishing fourth at last year's indoor state meet in the 500 meter dash, Tyler owns the fastest returning time in the 3A classification by over a full second. Tyler is also the classification's fastest returning runner in the 300 meter dash.

Jordan Williams (Senior, Dundalk) - 6.63 55

A late-season surge from Williams saw him drop his time in the 55 meter dash from 6.78 entering the state meet to 6.63 - good for fifth place - in the state finals. He finished fifth after having finished fourth at the 3A Central regional finals.

Sean Williams (Sophomore, Woodlawn) - 37.87 300, 1:15.60 500, 22.48 400, 49.53 400

Williams broke out significantly last spring as a freshman. He finished ninth at the 3A outdoor state meet in both the 200 and 400 meter dashes, then became the only freshman in the state to break 50 seconds in the 400 when he finished second at New Balance Nationals in the freshman 400.

Distance

Baidy Ba (Junior, Oakland Mills) - 2:04.36 800, 4:30.55 1600, 9:50.90 3200

After finishing fourth at the 2A state meet in the fall (and winning the 2A West regional title over eventual state champion Kyle Lund), Ba and Oakland Mills will be moving to the 3A classification for both the indoor and outdoor seasons. His cross country performances indicate he's ready to build upon his breakout sophomore track season.

Devion Bryant (Senior, North Point) - 52.34 400, 1:55.54 800, 4:27.20 1600

Bryant owns the fastest 800 meter personal best among 3A returners (and the second-fastest from last winter behind Dylan McMahan). He is also coming off his best cross country season yet, winning the 3A South title and finishing 12th at the state meet.

Andrew English (Junior, Wilde Lake) - 2:00.67 800, 4:32.20 1600

English's 2:00.67 indoor personal best in the 800 is the third-fastest among 3A returners this year. As a sophomore English won the 2A East regional title in the event and finished third at the 2A indoor state meet.

Cameron Hindle (Junior, Long Reach) - 55.12 400, 2:02.27 800, 4:24.72 1600

As a sophomore, Hindle won both the Howard County indoor and outdoor titles in the 1600. His 4:28 indoor personal best ranks second among 3A returners, and his outdoor personal best of 4:24 ranks fifth.

Alexander Lombardo (Junior, Gov. Thomas Johnson) - 1:15.14 500, 52.87 400, 1:58.68 800

After running 2:05 in the 800 as a sophomore last winter, Lombardo found his groove in the spring, running 1:58 at the CMC Championships, finishing second at the 3A West regionals and scoring at the state meet. Lombardo ranks third among 3A returners in the outdoor 800.

Conor McGirr (Senior, Huntingtown) - 1:59.51 800, 4:23.09 1600, 9:56.11 3200

McGirr was a surprise winner at last year's 3A indoor state meet in the 1600, when he ran a ten-second personal best. He has the fastest returning indoor 1600 time among 3A runners (and third in the entire state), and is also coming off his best cross country season that saw him finish fourth at the 3A state meet.

Dylan McMahan (Junior, Chopticon) - 37.90 300, 48.96 400, 1:56.29 800

After finishing second at the SMAC championships and third at the 3A East regional in the 800 meter run, McMahan broke through at the state meet, breaking two minutes for the first time and winning his first state title. He also shaved off nearly four seconds in the 400 meter dash and is the only 3A returner to have broken 49 seconds last spring.

Anish Nanjappa (Senior, River Hill) - 1:59.79 800, 4:23.70 1600, 9:32.71 3200

Nanjappa is coming off an undefeated senior cross country season, but only has one track state title on his ledger (the 2018 indoor 3200 as a sophomore). After the dominance he displayed on the course this year, however, that is almost certain to change by the end of the spring.

Peter Sorensen (Junior, Towson) - 2:22.50 800, 4:37.86 1600, 9:44.62 3200

Sorensen credited his first season of year-round running to his success this past fall. While he only has one sub-10:00 performance under his belt to date, his runner-up placing at the 3A state cross country meet hints at more improvement and faster times on the track in the near future.

Jeffrey Wedding (Junior, Chopticon) - 2:04.60 800, 4:29.55 1600, 9:57.40 3200

Wedding turned in an impressive fifth-place performance at the indoor state meet in the 1600 - even more so considering he was part of the record-setting Chopticon 4x800 just a few minutes before. He is one of four 3A returners to have run under 4:30 last winter.

Zachary Wedding (Junior, Chopticon) - 2:01.40 800, 4:21.85 1600, 9:51.40 3200

Zachary Wedding is coming off his second straight third-place finish at the 3A state cross country meet. His 4:21 personal best in the outdoor 1600 ranks second among 3A returners behind only Damascus' Tamrat Snyder.

Caleb Zylka (Senior, Bel Air) - 2:03.13 800, 4:25.52 1600, 9:37.72 3200

Zylka has three separate runner-up finishes at the state level, two of them coming in the 3200 at the indoor and outdoor 3A championships as a junior. His 9:41 indoor personal best in the event ranks second among 3A returners behind only Anish Nanjappa.

Hurdles/Field

Loick Amouzou (Senior, Hammond) - 7.63 55H, 14.02 110H

Competing in 2A last year, Amouzo finished second at states in all three hurdle events (55, 110 and 300 meters). Heading into his senior season, he leads all Maryland runners in returning times in the 110 meter hurdles and is second to DeMatha's Brandon Turpin in the returning 55 meter hurdle rankings.

Taishaun Craddock (Senior, Dundalk) - 7.72 55H, 14.54 110H, 6.68 55, 36.40 300, 22.14 200

Craddock balances both skills in the hurdles and speed for the sprint events. As a junior he scored in three events at the indoor state meet and finished in the top three in both hurdle events at the outdoor state meet. Craddock ranks among the top five returners in the 3A classification in the 200, 300, 55 hurdles, 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles.

Cory Gray (Senior, Towson) - 51'3 SP

Gray has finished in the top four at the 3A state meet in the shot put in each of the last three seasons, including a runner-up finish last winter. His 49'0 indoor season best from a year ago ranks third among returners across the entire state.

Charlie Hoston (Senior, South Hagerstown) - 6'4 HJ

Hoston scored in the high jump at both the indoor (seventh) and outdoor (fifth) state meets last year. He is just one of two 3A returners who cleared 6'4 last winter.

Kenneth King (Senior, Huntingtown) - 51'7.50 SP

While his 45'6.25 personal best in the shot put last winter was a major step forward, King continued to improve during the spring, clearing 50 feet for the first time at the 3A state meet in May (where he finished third). His 51'7.50 personal best is the top returning 3A mark.

Samurai Matthews (Junior, North Point) - 8.01 55H, 15.56 110H, 11.32 100

Matthews finished last indoor season as the state's third-fastest sophomore in the 55 meter hurdles. His outdoor season included fourth-place finishes at the 4A state championships in both the 110 and 300 meter hurdles.

Damone Moore (Senior, Towson) - 47'11 SP

The Generals have three returners who threw at least 47 feet in the shot put last spring, and Moore was one of them. Moore scored at both the indoor and outdoor state championships as a junior and has the fourth-best returning mark in the event in 3A.

Lorenzo Pelham (Senior, St. Charles) - 8.06 55H, 14.86 110H

Pelham's outdoor personal best of 14.86 in the 110 hurdles is tied for the sixth-fastest returning time in the entire state. He also ran 8.06 last winter in his first season of running the 55 meter hurdles.

Baeba Sayeh (Junior, Watkins Mill) - 46'9.25 SP

Sayeh won his first three shot put competitions of his sophomore indoor season, which included a county title. His 46'9.25 personal best (which he set during the indoor season) ranks second among 3A returners in terms of indoor marks.

Anthony Smith (Senior, Huntingtown) - 6'6 HJ, 6.68 55, 10.98 100, 21.96 200

Smith was a breakout star for the Hurricanes in his first season, as he was one of just four boys in the state (and the only non-senior) to clear 6'6 in the winter. He finished third at both the indoor and outdoor state meets in the high jump. He is also one of the top returning sprinters in the state; he is the only 3A returner to have run under 22 seconds in the 200 last spring.

Shemar Williams (Junior, Franklin) - 7.92 55H, 15.16 110H

Last winter Williams shaved off a second and a half from his freshman best in the 55 meter hurdles, earning a trip to the 3A state meet (where he finished fifth). Williams was the only sophomore last fall to run under eight seconds in the event.
