This Decade in Review: Top 500 Boys in the High Jump

South Hagerstown's Nathaniel Moore was the only Maryland boy throughout the decade to clear 6'10 in the high jump indoors, which he did at the 2018 Dwight Scott Invitational. Moore actually did not end up winning the 3A state title that season, losing to teammate Kaithon McDonald. Moore did win three state titles throughout his career (including one in the triple jump) and now competes for the University of Maryland, where he cleared 6'11 as a freshman. South Hagerstown was somewhat of a high jumper factory during the latter part of the decade: of the nine boys who cleared 6'7 indoors, three of them were Rebels.

Stephen Decatur's Gregory Peterson was the Bayside Conference's top high jumper of the decade, the only boy to clear 6'6 in either indoor or outdoor track going back to the 2010-11 season. He won the 3A indoor state title as a senior in 2012 when he cleared his personal best. Decatur captured back-to-back high jump titles in 2012 and 2013, when Lucas Duker took home the title.
