Several Maryland high school athletes set personal records at the McNamara Last Chance National Qualifier on May 30.
Bobby Rountree III (Bishop McNamara) ran 10.97 in the 100 meters, improving from his previous best of 11.28. The Class of 2030 sprinter finished 11th of 44 competitors and ranks #75 in Maryland. Rountree also set a PR in the 200 meters, clocking 22.77 to better his previous mark of 23.04.
Charli Mason (Bullis School) ran 2:19.61 in the 800 meters, dropping from her previous PR of 2:23.12. The Class of 2038 middle-distance runner placed 7th of 27 competitors and ranks #35 in the state.
Brooke Ifill (Elizabeth Seton) clocked 24.89 in the 200 meters, improving from 25.56. The junior finished 5th of 53 competitors and ranks #30 in Maryland and #10 among state juniors. Ifill also ran a PR of 1:00.31 in the 400 meters, bettering her previous time of 1:06.71.
Dante Brown (Milford Mill Academy) ran 22.16 in the 200 meters, improving from 24.14 set in March 2025. The senior placed 11th of 63 competitors and ranks #71 in the state and #28 among seniors. Brown also set a 400-meter PR of 50.04, improving from 50.32.
Garrett Tucker (North Point) ran 15.15 in the 110-meter hurdles, bettering his previous mark of 15.61. The junior placed 3rd of 6 competitors and ranks #40 in Maryland and #13 among state juniors.
Eva Valdez (Montgomery Blair) clocked 12.46 in the 100 meters, improving from 12.65. The senior finished 11th of 44 competitors and ranks #87 in the state and #21 among seniors.
Alaya Martin (Riverdale Baptist) ran 25.83 in the 200 meters, improving from 26.14 set in May 2026. The senior placed 20th of 53 competitors and ranks #113 in Maryland and #34 among seniors. Martin also ran 12.87 in the 100 meters, bettering her previous time of 12.92.
