9/24 WKND: Mt. Lebo Boys, N Allegheny Girls, and Elk Lake Girls All Upset, Sargent gets 1st win

PA#1 Mt. Lebanon boys were upset by PA#2 Cardinal O'Hara 79-85 in the PIAA Foundation Gold Race. AA #1 Elk Lake girls were 4th in the PIAA Foundation Blue Race to winners Quaker Valley, and Chambersburg girls win the Puma Challenge race over PA#8 North Allegheny 102-118.

Joseph goes from 9th to champion in 1 week

Loudoun County's Patrick Joseph went from 9th place at Oatlands last weekend to champion this weekend at Maymont in 16:11. Tatnall girls (DE) dominated the invite girls division, while Maggie Walker's Rachel Galton ran down a bunch of runners in the last half mile for third place (19:07) but was not enough to defeat Ocean Lakes at full strength finally with 3 girls in the top 9 for runner-up honors behind Tatnall.

Updates from meet management of the Maymont X-Country Festival. This year's meet will have a pasta dinner on Friday night and is offering group discount rates to the King's Dominion amusement park.
