Entered Teams and Athletes for the Jungle Run are now posted at
http://svxc.8k.com/2008JRentries.htm. Any coach who sees an error please contact Coach Autry at svxc@hotmail.com.
Information regarding the Jungle Run:
Important Jungle Run Announement:
Because of the overwhelming number of entries, compared to the past, we have made a slight alteration in the schedule for Saturday's Jungle Run. We will be adding JV Divisions to the meet. Teams have the option of entering their top seven in the Championship Races or Invitational Races and then running everyone else in the JV Races. Or, if so desired, teams may run their top seven in the Championship Races, their second seven in the Invitational Races and everyone else in the JV Races. You have compete flexibility. We will be contacting coaches over the next couple of days to inform them of this change.
Time-wise, we will start at 6:15, instead of 6:45 and anticipate finishing with the races about 40 minutes later than usual. Because we are using HYTEK software for results, we anticipate being done much earlier than usual, since we have tabulated results by hand in the past.
Any individual JV awards will be passed out as athletes exit the chute.
We apologize for any inconvience this may cause.
The entry list will be online by Wednesday night.
If you have questions, please contact Jesse Autry at svxc@hotmail.com or call at 910.257.7560.
NCRunner's Picks: Top 2 in each classification and Top 5 individual runners. But we have two individuals making predicitions-Ben Hovis, the former webmaster and Brian McMahon, the current webmaster. Ben decided to coin it Old School/New Age, read on for the picks...
The complete list for entered teams and athletes for the Providence Invite. Coaches are encouraged to make sure all athletes are entered.
The tentative race assignments have been posted on the meet website for the WNC-CC Carnival. Also listed are the athletes entered in the race. Coaches are advised to check to make sure all entered athletes are on the roster. Meet website: www.robersoncc.com
Our Independent school preview, the last one for this week (relieved is an appropriate word). But first NCRunner's is going to go talk about the Women's 10k final. If you don't want to know the results, don't click on the link. Let's just say NBC dropped the ball.
Once again NCRunner's will be doing a coaches poll. Coaches that are interested please send your picks to Ben Hovis, ben.hovis@providenceday.org. The coaches poll will follow the same schedule from last year. It will come out every two weeks. Coaches send your picks for any classification.
Today's August 14: an exciting day. Why? The 1A Men's and Women's Preview is on display, but this also the day when Madden 09 comes out. NCRunner's hopes they put in some Spy-gate type features to make it more realistic.
NCRunner's dives into the deep end to tackle the 2A. Men's and Women's preview together. But first some quick thoughts about the Olympics. One question that comes up: Why aren't we (America) dominating handball?
3A Men's Preview. We coach a team in this classification, so is there bias in this in article? You have to find out...more of the same observations, more of the same humor.
NCRunner's hasn't forgotten about the Women's Preview, we just felt that they needed their own article. Tomorrow the 3A Preview...
Thus begins the first of many previews for the different classifications, today we start with 4A. The theme NCRunner's is going with is Gut Feeling, meaning were not trusting our brain, but rather our gut. NCRunner's going out on a limb with some picks...
NCRunners breaks down each classification, starting with 4A on Monday and then will follow through the week going through 3A, 2A, 1A, and the Independent Schools. NCRunners will give you more than enough information about the upcoming season.
It's August 4th a pretty important day, it's the day that Liberia declared war on Germany in 1914, also this day is when Pope Urban VII was born in 1590 and Jeff Gordan was also born on this date. But in North Carolina it holds a special day for the sport of Cross Country. Official practices start today.
