ADVANCING FROM CONFERENCE MEET:Conferences 5, 6, 7 & 8 will advance the top 6 individuals and the top 3 relay teams automatically plus any athletes or relays teams meeting the 6A North Region meet standard.
REGION ENTRY PERFORMANCE: You are to enter athletes advancing to the 6A North Region meet by virtue of their Conference meets performance with the athletes best legitimate performance of the season for seeding purposes. Athletes advancing to the 6A North Region by virtue of a qualifying mark must submit a proof of performance (POP) form or the performance must be posted on www.MileStat.com to be used to enter the 6A North Region meets.
STATE ENTRY PERFORMANCE: Athletes advancing to the State meet by virtue of a qualifying mark must submit a proof of performance (POP) form along with their entries to their respective Region meet Director.
76-4-4 State Meet Entries-Eligibility of individual contestants shall be governed by the following provisions:
(1) Only entries which are properly submitted on the ofcial entry form, available from each regional track meet director, and received by the State Director not later than the deadline date for entry, will be accepted.
(2) The entry list must show those participants, who place rst, second, third, fourth, fth or sixth in a regional meet or who were certied by the regional or conference meet director as having met the qualifying times, heights and distances for the state meet during the conference or regional meet or in a regular meet of 3 or more teams.
(3) A contestant qualifying for the State Indoor Championship by placing among the top six nishers in his/her regional championship meet, may use for seeding purposes in the State Meet his/her best performance of the season as long as that performance has been made in a meet that serves as a state qualifying meet and has been veried by the Conference or Regional Meet Director.
REGION ENTRIES: Must be entered on MileStat.com by 10:00 a. m. Sunday, February 9, 2014.
SCRATCH MEETING: There will not be a coachs scratch meeting. All scratches must be done on Monday, February 10, 2014 before 6:00 p.m. at www.Milestat.com The update password will be sent with the Event Rank list on Sunday, February 9, 2014
ADMISSION: General Admission is $7.00
RULES: The 2013 National Federation Rule book and the 2013-14 edition of the Virginia High School League Handbook will govern the meet.
FIELD EVENT TIME: The one (1 ) minute rule will apply in all field events except the pole vault which remains at one and one half (1 1/2) minutes.
MEET VHSL PARTICIPATION LIMIT: Rules 76-4-2 Participation-In one meet a contestant may compete in any number of eld events but shall be limited to participation in any three running events except that a contestant who competes in the 3200 meter run may compete in only one other running event. No individual contestant may compete in more than one meet in any one day. In any meet over two days a contestant competing in the 3200 meter run may compete in two additional running events as long as only one of the two is contested on the same day as the 3200 meter run.
If an athlete at the conference, region or state meet is excused from an event by a certied athletic trainer or a physician appointed by the games committee, that athlete will be eligible for any and all other events entered unless the certied athletic trainer or physician determines that the athlete's health would be in danger with any further participation.
DELAY of EVENTS: No event in the meet is to be held up because a participant is engaged in another event. If a contestant is entered in a field event which conflicts in the time schedule with a track event in which he is entered, he will make advance arrangements with the official in charge of the field event to postpone his attempt in the trials until after the track event has been run. No track event will be held up to accommodate a contestant likewise competing in a field event.
REPORTING FOR EVENTS: In events run by heats, all participating must report to the clerk at the marshaling area before the first heat is run. Failure to report on time will result in a scratch.
UNIFORMS: Participants will be required to wear team uniforms while competing. Meet numbers will be issued to each school and are required to be worn before being permitted to compete. In relay events each team member will wear the same color and design school uniform (jersey & short). When other apparel is worn under the jersey by more than one team member that apparel must be identical in color. Participants in the High Jump and Pole Vault must report to their event with their competition numbers but may remove numbers when competition begins.
TRACK: Oval is a 6-Lane 200m all-weather surface. The straight away is an 8-Lane 200m all-weather surface
SHOT PUT: All shots will be weighed and certified by the Head Field Judge.
HIGH JUMP & POLE VAULT: Starting height will be determined by the games committee.
EQUIPMENT: Each school will furnish its own baton, indoor shot and vaulting pole. Blocks will be supplied for races below 400m run completely in lanes. 1/4 spikes (7mm) or less pyramid shaped spikes are permitted.
CALL FOR EVENTS: First call - 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time of event. Second call - 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time of event. Third call - five minutes prior to the scheduled time of event.
HEAT LEADERS: These will be determined by the meet director after he receives the entry lists. The meet director will set up the heats by rules. The finals will be set up according to times run in the trials. The place in the trials will not be used for seeding to the finals; times only will be used. In lane events, participants must return to the finish line and remain in their respective lanes until the judges have reached their decision as to the places.
CONTROL OF THE INFIELD: All participants will be limited to specific areas in the field house. Each coach is directed to instruct his or her team to remain in these areas except when competing or warming up for his or her event. All participants will be directed to warm up in a designated area. Any athletes found out of these designated areas are subject to disqualification. No coaches will be allowed on the track and/or infield areas except in the coaching box areas unless working an event as an official.
DISQUALIFICATION: A competitor will be disqualified from an event if the coach, manager, attendant, or anyone associated with the competitor's team is on the infield the track, the enclosure inside, or those areas designated only for officials and contestants actually participating or preparing for a subsequent event.
PRESENTATION OF AWARDS: All medals will be presented immediately after each event results are announced. The team trophies will be presented at the conclusion of the meet.
