On October 16th, Oakland Mills hosted their annual Scorpion Crawl Invitational, featuring their famous zig-zag hill where runners go through 11 sharp hairpin turns while racing along a hillside. The Scorpions' very own Ethan Aidam and Frankie Moore took the first place finisher spots of the Boys and Girls Varsity races, with Aidam finishing in 16:38.04 and Moore running 20:48.12.

For the Boys Varsity Race, Aidam finished with an impressive feat. He placed first with a time of 16:38.04, which granted him a lead of 36 seconds.

"I knew I had a good lead, I could hear people cheering for Henry behind me, so I tried to pick it up," Aidam said in an interview.

Ethan Aidam had broken from the lead pack about a mile into the race with Wilde Lake's Henry Hopper trailing right behind him. Hopper finished second with a time of 17:14.72.

Long Reach's Alejandro Cabrera (17:25.73) and Christian Brower (18:14.80) took 3rd and 4th, respectively. Oakland Mills' Donovan Lawson followed right behind Brower with a time of 18:15.74.

However, the Marriotts Ridge boys managed to take the team win with an average time spread of 1:05, placing five of their boys in the top 15. The Mustangs also dominated the boy's JV race, led by sophomore Evan Tian who ran 20.01.91. The Mustangs would have claimed all top ten individual finishing places, had it not been for Franklin's Ethan Bush, who broke into the pack, placing 4th in 20:21.41.
