Brian Nelson Runs US #6 6.43 State Best Time In 55 WITHOUT Spikes At Baltimore Armory!

State leading performances do not often come out of the Baltimore Armory, but Brian Nelson of CH Flowers did just that racing in flats to run Maryland's fastest time of the season in the 55 meter dash with a 6.43 clocking at the Freddie Hendricks Relays on Monday. The performance also ranks him #6 in the nation currently tied with former Bowie standout Maxwell Willis (now at Archbishop Carroll in DC).

A PR in the short sprint for Nelson, who had a personal best of 6.49 with spikes a year ago at the Prince George's County Championships last January. Nelson takes over the state leaderboard spot from another PG County sprinter in Tajh Gilhchrist of Bowie, who ran 6.47 just this past Saturday at the =PR= Holiday Invitational. It will be interesting to see who ends the season's the state fastest in the 55 meter dash without a clear cut front runner coming into the season, but as of now, Nelson reigns #1 in Maryland.
