Dozen Girls To Watch At 2018 MPSSAA State Championships

Cameron Hinton (Franklin)

Cameron Hinton looks to battle with teammate Nyjari McNeil for the 3A girls state title in 400 as well as likely the state leading time in the event as the two have been trading the #1 spot all spring long. Hinton had the top time in Maryland after winning the Baltimore County title over McNeil in a season best time of 55.02, but McNeil took it back the next week at the 3A North Regional in a 54.96 win.

Hinton is a two-time state champion in the 300 meter dash indoors (39.37), but is seeking her first outdoor state title. She spent her first two years of high school at private school Maryvale Prep where she had won numerous titles in their championship season meets.

Hinton will also be featured on Franklin's sprint relays, which could challenge some state record times with season bests of 3:42 in the 4x400 and 1:40.52 in the 4x200.
